Your New Practice

Your New Role

As a Speech Pathologist, you will assess, diagnose and manage communication and feeding disorders in children and young people.

You will have the opportunity to provide services in a variety of ways, including individual therapy, group therapy, telehealth, home programs and school-based programs.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with families, schools and other relevant stakeholders to ensure therapy is practical, evidence-based and aligned with the individual goals and needs of each child.

Your responsibilities will include the following

• Assessing and diagnosing children presenting with communication and/or feeding disorders.
• Planning and delivering evidence-based Speech Pathology services.
• Providing individual therapy and group therapy.
• Delivering services through telehealth where appropriate.
• Developing home programs and school programs for children.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of therapy programs and services.
• Identifying and documenting individual client goals.
• Monitoring and evaluating client progress and planning re-evaluations where required.
• Consulting with families, schools and other relevant stakeholders regarding assessment, diagnosis and management.
• Participating in multidisciplinary assessment and treatment programs.
• Working collaboratively with other allied health professionals.
• Initiating and participating in quality improvement activities in consultation with your line manager.
• Contributing to the ongoing evaluation and development of service delivery to ensure the needs of clients and families are being met.

Your Profile

You will have the following

• A tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
• Eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
• A current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• A current Working with Children Check.
