Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Brisbane, Queensland | 2-4 days per week, with the option for more | Flexibility to be employed as either an employee or an independent contractor
Are you looking for a warm, supportive private practice where you can develop your clinical interests and enjoy flexibility around your schedule? Join an established psychology and allied health practice in Brisbane, Queensland, with a steady referral stream, a close-knit team and excellent administrative support.
We are seeking an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) to join the team for 2-4 days per week, with the option for more days if desired. We welcome both early career clinicians and experienced practitioners. New graduates interested in mental health social work are also welcome to enquire, outlining their current accreditation status; suitability for available work will depend on accreditation and the requirements of the role.
- Flexibility and autonomy over your schedule;
- An established referral stream and existing waitlist;
- Regular supervision, peer support and professional development.
Your New Role
Join an established practice providing evidence-based care and compassionate support. You will receive clinical mentoring and work in a supportive team environment, with client groups aligned with your skills and interests, including children, adolescents, adults and couples.
High-level administrative and practice management support, together with automated client communication templates, helps you focus on your clinical work.
Your responsibilities will include the following
- Provide mental health assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions within your professional scope of practice;
- Build strong therapeutic relationships, recognising the social, family and environmental factors that affect client wellbeing;
- Develop and review care plans that reflect each client's needs and goals;
- Participate in collaborative care for clients with eating disorders, working closely with the practice's dietitian and credentialed eating disorder clinician;
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and fulfil your ethical and professional responsibilities;
- Contribute positively to the practice's reputation and supportive team environment.
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you will be warm, professional and able to build strong therapeutic relationships. You will also have the following:
- A recognised social work qualification and current Accredited Mental Health Social Worker status with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for the accredited role;
- The ability to provide evidence-based mental health interventions appropriate to your experience and professional scope;
- Availability for 2-4 days per week, with the option for more if desired;
- A reliable, organised approach to clinical documentation and professional responsibilities;
- A commitment to ongoing client wellbeing, reflective practice and professional development.
Early career clinicians, new graduates and experienced practitioners are encouraged to make contact. Please specify whether you hold AMHSW accreditation or are working towards it. A social work qualification alone does not confer AMHSW accreditation.
We particularly welcome applicants passionate about collaborative care for clients with eating disorders.
